Submission to ACART on extending the storage period of gametes and embryos

The recent Nathaniel Centre submission to ACART on extending the storage period of gametes and embryos is reproduced for readers. The cryopreservation of embryos poses a unique dilemma from a Catholic perspective. On the one hand it represents a serious injustice because it interrupts their right to develop. On the other hand, in certain circumstances, extending the storage period may be what is required to ensure that particular embryos are given a chance to live the life that is already rightfully theirs.
